KELȽOLEMEĆEN at BOḰEĆEN

On August 31 our team had an incredible encounter with members of the T109As while heading to the Inlet to conduct BRUVS surveys. The whales were highly active and appeared to be hunting seals as they moved quickly along the shoreline. We later learned that they had continued around the Coast Guard dock and were still actively hunting in the area. It was especially interesting to watch the matriarch helping guide the younger orcas during the hunt! A pretty special moment to witness in our traditional lands.
