QENTOL, YEN Heads to the Rockies!

This Thursday, QENTOL, YEN Senior Manager, David Dick, is heading inland, past the Rockies to Edmonton to showcase an exhibit on Killer Whales at the Royal Alberta Museum (RAM). Attendees can meet and learn from David June 19 from 10am-3pm MDT in the RAM lobby. This meeting will allow visitors to learn about QENTOL, YEN’s work to monitor the Salish Sea, further our understanding of SRKW, W̱SÁNEĆ people's cultural relationship with the Orca, and how we ensure responsible stewardship. Attendees can see some of the tools we use to monitor orcas and why this work is important. Museum admission is required, and gives you access to the entire museum and the Orca exhibit.
This Orca exhibit allows the viewer to dive deep into the importance of killer whales in indigenous culture, learn about the latest science, killer whale culture, and the threats that plague their populations. This exhibit is showcased at the RAM until October 19.
On June 19, after the meet and learn from David, the documentary “Shared Waters, Shared Crisis”, a film featuring QENTOL, YEN, will be screened to attendees at 6pm MDT. After the film, you can hear from David Dick from QENTOL, YEN / W̱SÁNEĆ Marine Guardians Program.
