After two back to back SRKW days, we started the day with information that J pod had gone north into the Strait of Georgia. We headed North in Swanson channel to see if the whales were in the vicinity of North Galiano or could be seen from the the southern Strait of Georgia. On the way, we came across a group of killer whales including members of the T075Bs, T099s, and others north of ȻAḴ,SEN (Port Washington). It was an exciting group to see as the T075Bs recently welcomed a new calf that was first seen in August! We stayed with this group to monitor marine mammal compliance and to protect these whales as they travelled through busy ferry routes. The group was surface active breaching and tail slapping as they made their way north through Trincomali channel.
