On May 08, 2025 our team got news of killer whales in the Saanich Inlet. We headed to the water from our office for land based observations and saw two distinct males, brothers T049A1 and T049A2. We first watched them as they travelled near SENANUS island, then we travelled north, observing them again from S,LEḰTÁN, and finally watched them head North West from ĆELḰINES. These two male killer whales were faced with multiple whale watching vessels in the inlet, some travelling all the way from the mainland.

Our team is working to expand our land based observations with designated shore stations and appropriate tracking equipment.
